Water is life.
Like air, water is essential to our life. Our bodies are mostly water-70% in fact! Our muscles are 75% water, our lungs 80% water, our blood 90%. Even our teeth are 10% water! This makes water incredibly important to our health and well-being-whether we are young or old.
Why pure water is so important to our bodies is approximately 70-75% of our body weight is water.
Our body is dependent on the quality of the water we drink. The average adult body contains 60 litres of water. The brain is up to 93% water. All our body functions need water to work. Pure water does not introduce new contaminants or poisons into our body.
What’s Special About This Water?
Newcastle Pure Water contains no visible dissolved inorganic minerals or metals that are found in town water, spring water and bore water.
Additionally Newcastle Pure Water contains no chemicals, toxins, heavy metals or other dissolved items found in today's hard water. The process Newcastle Pure Water uses replicates natures rain making. By boiling water at low temperature in a vacuum chamber a vapour is created. As the vapour rises it leaves behind all dissolved contaminants. The steam is then pumped out and condensed to produce ultra pure drinking water.

Ever stopped to think what is in the water you drink?
Municipal authorities treat water to fall within world health requirements. They must take into account that approximately 1% of water is used for drinking or cooking purposes. It would be too expensive to bring all water up to purity for drinking purposes. The waste remains which carry water to our homes can also be contaminated by leaching which is generally caused by pipes which have deteriorated with age.
Water authorities often add various chemicals into the water, and some clean the water with an aluminium flocking agent called Alum. Our water sources are also becoming contaminated by the increasing population, industrial wastes and agricultural use. We read about chemical spills, land fills, excessive herbicide and pesticide sprays, chemical dumps, nitrate fertiliser run off and pollution caused by stock. All these pollutants are seriously affecting our underground aquifers, waterways and rivers. Municipal water is usually treated with chlorine to kill bacteria and viruses, and we have learnt that Chlorine causes carcinogenic compounds such as trihalomethanes and chloroforms when mixed with organic matter can cause cancer.
It is reported from overseas that even the most sophisticated water treatment stations are unable to prevent a number of unwanted diseases and chemicals going through water treatment stations. Taking all of this information into consideration, we believe it is best to take charge of the water we drink and ensure we drink the purest water in the world. This can only be pure water by steam distillation.
What treatment methods are available?
In the past people used to collect rainwater and use it for drinking and cooking, but today this water is polluted and not considered safe to drink by the health authorities. Nature uses rainwater to cleanse the atmosphere free of contaminants including chemicals. Just because water looks clear it does not mean it is safe to drink. Even treated water can contain a larger range of contaminants even though they are described as falling within World Health drinking water guidelines.
What about boiling water?
To make water free from disease it should be boiled for 15 to 20 minutes. The trouble is that when water is boiled, some of the pure water boils off in the way of steam and simply concentrates what is left behind, so that the water is even worse to drink.
What about bottled water?
There is a wide range of bottled mineral water available. There is no regulation or scientific research to indicate that bottled water is any healthier or better than municipal water. In fact reports in the USA suggest that bottled water is no better than tap water, and in some cases even worse. Some bottled water has been shown to contain excessive bacteria which can cause intestinal problems, diarrhea and nausea.
What about water coolers?
Just because water is chilled, tastes great and has passed through a carbon filter does not mean the water is free from bacteria. The carbon filter it passes through, takes out the unwanted taste, however most other contaminants remain. There have been reports carried out by authorities on water coolers which have shown that there was an excessive build up of bacteria and disease in the water. Water coolers have been seen to turn green, as there is no chlorine in the water to keep them disease free. Water coolers incorrectly maintained can be a source of water borne diseases.
What about rain water?
This water should not be drunk without distillation or proper UV treatment. Rainwater cleanses the atmosphere.
What about bore water?
Many bores or wells contain which is heavily polluted by a range of inorganic materials or pollutants. Be careful if you are drinking from this source of water, many underground aquifers are contaminated by sprays, chemicals and faecal coliforms from stock or human waste.
What about filters?
Filters are designed to stop visible dirt and certain contaminants. Carbon filters are used to eliminate chlorine and bad odours. A filter can become a breeding ground for bacteria, as the contaminants collected in the filter begin to decay. With a filter the impossible is attempted. The aim is to get clean water from a filter which becomes increasingly full of contaminants from the water passing through it. Sometimes the water coming through a filter can be worse that the source water. Also there are many dangerous contaminants that a filter cannot remove, such as fluoride, nitrates, inorganic materials such as Aluminium, chemicals and pesticides. The other concern with a filter is when should it be changed. Many filters last but a short time, but are often used well beyond their expected lifetime.
